Five years ago I moved to the mountains of North Carolina - to a little town just outside of Asheville. Having grown up in California I was very familiar with earthquakes, periodic floods, and wild fires that would sometimes consume vast areas of land. -- Asheville seemed like a good place to relocate to because it rarely suffered the same kinds of calamities. And THEN - Hurricane Helene stormed into town. Losing power and water for more than 3 weeks was a new experience I hope will never be repeated. One of the good things that came from dealing with storm related havoc was the inspiration it gave me for writing the 'Hurricane Helene Blues'. Most often there's some good that comes with the bad.
